for 2013

Located in the scenic heart of Oregon's Hood River Valley, Rasmussen Farns has been welcoming visitors to our beautiful corner of the world for 68 years. We're one of the Northwest's most popular farm destinations.

We love special celebrations!
We start in the Spring and end November 11, as Winter approaches.

BLOSSOM FESTIVAL -- April 12th through the 28th. The Hood River Valley in Bloom! The blossoms don't all come out at the same time throughout the valley so you should have a good chance at catching some between these dates. Apples and Pears available from controlled atmosphere storage. We feature Oregon Products, recipes and Greenhouse Open House.

CHERRY CELEBRATION -- July 20 & 21. Cherry harvest should be at its peak with many varieties available. New varieties include Gibraltar, Chelan, Sandra Rose, as well as, Bing, Vann, Rainier and Stella -- all your favorites. We have recipes and samples to try, Oregon Cherry Products, and a sale in the Greenhouse.

VAN GOGH DAYS -- Aug 3 & 4. Sunflowers continuing through August. Celebrating 70 kinds of sunflowers – Perfect opportunity to paint, cut, take photos and enjoy the many colors of summer. Reservations suggested for photo clubs or art groups. From 12-4pm: Live music, free wine tasting from Hood River Vineyards, Food Cart, Quilt Show, vegetable games and treasure hunt.

GRAVENSTEIN APPLE DAYS -- August 17 & 18. Kick-off the fall fruit season with our favorite pie apple. Fresh cider, Gravenstein Apple Pie, and recipes. Also, family activities, featuring a Pie Walk and Chicken Dance in the afternoons. Opening of the Corn Maze.

SALSA SIZZLE, September 7 & 8 . Tons of U-Pick tomatoes and peppers! Try a variety of local salsas and collect recipes to make your own. Local dance group preforms at 1pm.

PEAR PARTY, September 21 & 22. Come join us for this celebration of pears! There will be Pear pie, sampling of Oregon Food Products, lots of recipes and live music. Enjoy a walk through our Corn Maze and get a sneek preview of this year's Pumpkin Funland.

PUMPKIN FUNLAND-- Oct 1 - Nov 11. Visit a wonderful, unique world created with pumpkins, gourds, squash and from items conjured up by our staff. See our Corn Maze in the corn field with scenes throughout. U-pick pumpkins, fall deco, and, of course, fall vegetables and fruits. Pumpkin bowling and our covered picnic area. Sunset Magazine noted Pumpkin Funland as a "must see" for fall. (click on a picture to the right to go to the Pumpkin Funland page).

Pumpkin Funland was nationally rated as one of the eleven best places in the USA for Halloween by nickjr.com.

GOURD CENTRAL -- our selection gets better every year. From small and tiny to very large swan, caveman, and birdhouse -- in all, over 20 kinds. Gourds are very exciting craft material in addition to traditional uses.

CORN MAZE -- Sep 1 - Oct 31. We feature a new theme every year. Our 2012 theme was Scouting the Gorge, Celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouts!
